Madigan's 2024 Tree Lighting Ceremony!

By Madigan Public Affairs - Photos By Ryan Graham, Visual Info Team

On December 12th, Madigan Army Medical Center hosted its Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring a truly special guest, Roman Nelson. Roman is an extraordinary boy who has been courageously battling significant health challenges. He is recognized not just for overcoming obstacles but for showing us all what it means never to give up, no matter the odds. His journey is a powerful reminder that strength, generosity, and kindness come in many forms, often in the smallest packages. We are immensely proud of Roman for his courage, compassion, and selfless spirit.

Each year, one of the highlights of the event is watching one of Madigan's youngest patients help the commander throw the switch.  This year Roman Nelson helped Col. Williamson-Younce and Command Sgt. Maj. Gilberto Colon light up the tree.

People the world over celebrate in December. From Hanukkah to Kwanzaa and Christmas to Yule, the end of the year is a joyful time. Madigan Army Medical Center observed the season with its Christmas tree and Menorah lighting ceremony in the Medical Mall.

A heartfelt thank you to Roman and his family for bringing the magic, lighting the Madigan Tree, and making the ceremony unforgettable!
