It's more common than you think.

Urinary incontinence and pelvic floor problems are very common in women. Pelvic floor disorders are NOT a normal part of aging that you just have to live with. They are medical conditions that are treatable. Most women experiencing symptoms don’t even seek treatment because they are embarrassed or assume that everything is a result of aging or having babies. What is important to know is that most pelvic floor conditions are treatable!

Why is this happening to me?

Pelvic floor issues arise when there is damage or a weakening of the muscles, ligaments or connective tissue that support the pelvic organs (bladder, bowel, uterus, vagina and rectum), often caused by a variety of health events and conditions like childbirth, obesity and menopause, to name a few.

What is a Urogynecologist?

Urogynecologists complete medical school and a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology or Urology. These doctors are specialists with additional training and experience in the evaluation and treatment of conditions that affect the female pelvic organs, and the muscles and connective tissue that support the organs.
