About
Environmental Health Service strives to enhance the health and readiness of our Joint Base Lewis-McChord community by providing comprehensive environmental health services that protect and sustain the environment for future generations. Environmental Health is the science and practice of preventing or mitigating adverse health effects through anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of health hazards identified within the environment.
We have a variety of programs to meet these objectives to include food service and general sanitation inspections; drinking water quality assurance monitoring; West Nile Virus and vector surveillance; medical treatment facility environmental compliance inspections; and training programs for food safety across the installation and hazardous material/waste disposal at the medical treatment facility.
