Directions

The Antenatal Diagnostic Center is located in the OBGYN Specialty Services at Madigan Army Medical Center, which is located on Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington. From I-5, take exit 122 (Berkley Street). After entering the gate, go to the 2nd traffic light and turn right onto Beaumont Avenue into the Medical Mall parking “purple” lot. Enter the main entrance to the Medical Mall and take the first right, leading you down the pharmacy hallway and ADC is the last clinic on the left-hand side.

The Antenatal Diagnostic Center (ADC) provides outstanding care for the pregnant patients at Madigan Army Medical Center. We perform over 15,000 ultrasounds per year for both routine and complicated pregnancies. The ADC has proven expertise in the management and treatment of pregnancy complications and will be by your side to help manage your pregnancy.

The Antenatal Diagnostic Center is certified by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine for its excellent performance in prenatal ultrasounds, making Madigan the only military treatment facility to earn this designation.

The Maternal Fetal Medicine Service provides full consultation availability 24 hours a day for complicated and high risk obstetric patients. It is the only Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship in the Department of Defense and is therefore on the forefront in fetal medicine and diagnostics. Our clinical staff include:

• Board Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists
• Geneticist
• Genetic Counselor
• Perinatal Nurse Practitioner
• Ultrasonographers

We offer a full spectrum of screening and diagnostic tests to evaluate the health of the fetus, placenta, umbilical cord and uterine environment. Genetic testing can be conducted to determine if your pregnancy is at risk for inherited disorders, genetic, or chromosomal abnormalities. A few tests we conduct include:

• Ultrasound
• Amniocentesis
• Percutaneous Umbilical Blood sampling
• Fetal echocardiograms

In high risk pregnancies, we conduct antenatal testing in the third trimester and also provide pre-pregnancy counseling to women with complex medical conditions to optimize your care prior to pregnancy. Pregnant patients with medical problems can seek consultation in our clinic for medical conditions such as diabetes, a history of preterm delivery, and twins and higher order multiples.
