Addiction Medicine Intensive Outpatient & Partial Hospitalization Program

About

Addiction Medicine (AM) services utilize the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria for the treatment of addictive, substance-related, and co-occurring conditions. Two levels of care are available for active duty service members, ASAM Level 2.1 Intensive Outpatient Program (2.1/IOP) and ASAM Level 2.5 Partial Hospitalization Program (2.5/PHP).  Level 2.1/ IOP consists of a combination of group and individual therapy for a minimum of 9 hours per week. Level 2.5/PHP offers additional care with group and individual therapy for a minimum of 20 hours per week.

The assessment and treatment process begins with a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment and rating of risk for six dimensions which are used for determining the appropriate level of care, service planning, and treatment. The six dimensions include: 1) acute intoxication and/or withdrawal potential, 2) biomedical conditions and complications, 3) emotional, behavioral, or cognitive conditions and complications, 4) readiness to change, 5) relapse, continued use, or continued problem potential, and 6) recovery/living environment.
