These are links to PDFs. There is a lot of information and you do not need to read it all at once. These are just good to have.

Some websites you might find helpful:

  • Register for the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal to facilitate communication with your doctors if you have not done so already. https://patientportal.mhsgenesis.health.mil or call 800-538-9552 if you are having trouble.
  • Support Services Waivers — or simply waivers — is a shortened term for Medicaid Home and Community-Based Waiver Programs. These programs provide funding for supports and services to help you to live in your home and community.  Each waiver has its own unique set of eligibility requirements and services. Your child may qualify for a DDA waiver. For more information visit the following link or call the number.  https://www.dshs.wa.gov/sites/default/files/publications/documents/22-605.pdf (Pierce County is Region 3 North); phone 253-404-5500 and ask about home and community based waiver services.
  • Your provider may have mentioned or even referred you to JBLM CARES. To contact them please call 253-968-7924
  • Managing all of your child’s records can be challenging. We suggest that families create a 3-ring binder for their child. This will allow you as parents to keep educational, medical, therapy, and military specific documents in one place. A good example of how to organize such a binder can be found on Military One Source which offers a downloadable record as a part of their Special Needs Toolkit  https://www.militaryonesource.mil/products#!/detail/143
