About

It is our pleasure to serve you and provide you with all of your imaging needs. Our staff is highly trained, motivated and eager to provide you with the most up-to-date quality care available with the state-of-the-art imaging technology today. Madigan is proud to offer the full range of diagnostic imaging services. These services are available to our patients only by referral from your primary care manager.

Radiology performs and interprets thousands of imaging products annually. Radiology is divided into several sections, each directed by a radiologist specializing in that particular area. In addition to General Radiology, these sections include Computerized Tomography (CT), Interventional Radiology, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound.

General Radiology

General Radiology is the oldest, most frequent used imaging called x-ray. X-ray technology was established more than a hundred years ago and can be produced on film or digitally. Bones will block or absorb many of the x-rays and appear white, while less dense tissues, such as muscles and organs will appear in shades of gray on the x-ray image. There is usually no preparation required for an x-ray, but you may be asked to position your body and hold still so that a clear x-ray image can be obtained.

Madigan is proud to be a leader in digital x-ray imaging. X-ray imaging is the fastest and easiest way for radiologists and your primary care manager to view and assess such things as broken bones, conditions of joints, spinal and skull injuries and viewing of the condition of the abdominal and chest areas of the body.

Floroscopy

Fluoroscopy is a kind of x-ray procedure that helps view internal organs in motion in order to 'see' the organ or body part in detail and can be viewed in real time. Fluoroscopy plays an important role in many procedures and examinations that can image bones, digestive and urinary tracts, reproductive and respiratory systems. Fluoroscopy procedures are unique for your health care need. You may be asked to lie or stand against the fluoroscopy x-ray table using a special device to image the structure in your body that is being examined. You may be given a dye or other contrast material that will help with the imaging process. You may be asked to wear a hospital gown during the fluoroscopy procedure. Prior to your fluoroscopy, you be given specific preparation instructions that could include eating and drinking restrictions.
