Interventional Radiology is located in Madigan Army Medical Center and can be reached by taking I-5 exit 122 and parking in the Medical Mall Purple Parking Lot or the Southwest Orange Parking Lot. Interventional Radiology located in room 1-36-C4 and can be reached by taking the South Corridor and is across from the Nutrition Clinic.

About

The Interventional Radiology clinic is a minimally invasive image guided procedural service providing care to our patient population. We provide services for the local Veterans Hospital by arrangement. Emergency services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The VIR Team is comprised of Board-certified physicians, registered technologists and registered nurses who provide holistic care for patients.

The Interventional Radiology Clinic offers a wide range of patient care services. Some of these services are, but not limited to:

  • Angiography with stenting and angioplasty
  • Thrombectomy and thrombolysis
  • Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE)
  • IVC filter placement and removal
  • Varicocele embolization
  • Vascular anomolies
  • Vascular embolizations and sclerosis
  • Neuro interventions for stroke & aneurysms
  • Chemoembolizations
  • Tumor ablations (radio frequency and cryo)
  • Central venous access (Ports, PICCS, Dialysis caths)
  • Biopsy
  • Nephrostomy tubes and stents
  • Biliary tubes, feeding tubes, stents and drains
  • Kyphoplasty & Vertebral augmentation
  • Lumbar punctures and myelograms
  • Therapeutic joint injections for pain management
  • Trauma care

Patients seen in Interventional Radiology are those referred from their primary care provider and civilian trauma patients.

Appointments can be made by visiting the Radiology Scheduling Desk in room 1-46-05, which is located on the first floor of the Hospital Tower and can be reached by taking the East Corridor of the hospital.

A patient checking in for Interventional Radiology is done in room 1-36-C2, which is located on the first floor of the Hospital Tower across from the Nutrition Clinic and can be reached by taking the South Corridor of the hospital.
